Cardiac Rehabilitation:
Phase 2:
After hospitalization, patients enter into our cardiac
rehabilitation program (Phase 2) which is designed to safely
and swiftly return patients to an optimal level of health and
activity following a heart attack, heart surgery, or
angioplasty. Physicians and our specialized cardiac
rehabilitation nurses design and supervise an individual
exercise program for each participant. Entry into the
program is by physician referral only.
Phase 3:
Phase 3 Cardiac Rehabilitation is a maintenance for
graduates of Phase 2. Phase 3 is a low-level,
outpatient exercise program that provides the added assurance
of medical supervision and assistance for heart patients.
Participants will exercise at the HealthPark in Owensboro.
* C.A.R.E.:
"Cardiac Assessment Risk Evaluation" is designed for
people who have not yet shown any symptoms of heart disease.
The program defines a person's risk of developing heart
disease and introduces techniques for reducing risk factors
for coronary disease.
